摘要

Abstract

The bug Macrolophus pygmaeus (Rambur) (Heteroptera: Miridae) is a generalist predator used to control a number of vegetable pests in greenhouses. In this study, we compared the attractiveness of two tobacco species, Nicotiana tabacum L. and Nicotiana alata L., for oviposition by M. pygmaeus. Both tobacco species were found to be equally attractive, but the mean number of nymphs per female depended on the plant surface area available for oviposition.
