Suppression of Detonation Waves by Nitrogen and Carbon Dioxide: Methane and Hydrogen Mixtures

Abstract
This paper presents new data on the detonation parameters of lean, stoichiometric, and enriched methane–oxygen (air) and hydrogen–oxygen (air) mixtures inhibited by nitrogen and carbon dioxide. A stronger inhibitory effect of carbon dioxide on the parameters of combustion and detonation products was found by varying the ratio between the initial components.
