摘要

Abstract

The detonation velocity of an emulsion explosive with the addition of PAP-2 and ASD-4 aluminum powders was measured for charges of different thicknesses with different initial densities. Adding PAP-2 aluminum powder was found to reduce the critical detonation thickness of the emulsion explosive. For charges of great thickness with an aluminized emulsion explosive higher than 1.0 g/cm \({}^{3}\) , PAP-2 and ASD-4 powders have equivalent effects on the detonation velocity. The replacement of aluminum powder with talc powder markedly deteriorates the detonation characteristics of the emulsion explosive. The results of the work suggest that during detonation, PAP-2 and ASD-4 aluminum powders in emulsion explosives with a density higher than 1.0 g/cm \({}^{3}\) react completely before the Chapman–Jouguet surface.
