Abstract

Despite the fact that wind power generation is considered one of the most environmentally friendly renewable energy sources today, industrial operation of modern wind power plants in some cases causes low-frequency seismoacoustic noise pollution of the environment, which has a negative impact on the quality of life. The article presents the results of in-kind measurements of seismic and acoustic noise generated by a wind power plant on the western coast of the southern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula. Estimates of the observed levels of tonal noise from wind turbines are obtained, including in the case of exceeding the permissible values according to current regulations.
