Using Landsat and Resurs-P Multispectral Satellite Survey to Forecast Diamond-Bearing Kimberlites in Arkhangelsk and Vologda Oblasts
摘要
Abstract
A comprehensive study of satellite and geological–geophysical survey data has been carried out to predict diamond-bearing kimberlites in Arkhangelsk and Vologda oblasts (Russia). New methods for the computer processing of multispectral satellite survey are developed to identify diamond-prospective sites in areas covered by Quaternary and Middle Carboniferous deposits. The important role of high-resolution Resurs-P satellite survey in studying local structures that control the distribution of kimberlite pipes is demonstrated.
