The Influence of Migration Flows of Earthquakes on the Spatial-Temporal Dynamics of Seismicity in the Amur Region
摘要
Based on the analysis of the time course of seismic events in different magnitude ranges that occurred in different time intervals in the 1980–2010 in the Amur region (the collision zone of the Bureya massif and the Aldan-Stanovoy block), a significant influence of earthquake migration on the spatio-temporal structure and dynamics of weak seismicity in areas adjacent to or located close to the migration chains of earthquakes was established. Two types of interaction between earthquake migration and scattered seismicity were revealed: synchronous interaction and delayed interaction. A mechanism for the impact of earthquake migration on weak seismicity is proposed. The nature of the interaction between earthquake migration and scattered seismicity allows us to identify the activation of weak scattered seismicity as a wave process.
