Abstract

An analysis of the local seismic-ecological monitoring results was carried out mainly at nuclear power plant sites in order to research the endogenous (tectonic) and cosmic (external) factors influence on the geological environment stress state and anisotropy. The stress state geodynamic indicators are assessed on the basis of recordings of seismic waves from distant catastrophic earthquakes and micro seismic vibrations, as well as the influence of cosmic factors: magnetic storms, changes of the speed rotation of the Earth, the Moon and tidal influences of the Sun. One of the research objectives is an assessment of the influences of all these factors on the dynamics of the stress state and of the seismicity of the geological environment, on which the area choice for the safe construction of particularly dangerous engineering facilities depends. It has been established that the summation of different stresses leads to their concentration and contrasting manifestation, expressed in the geodynamic indicators and manifestations of local seismicity. High and contrasting indicators characterize tectonically active seismic regions, as a rule; in weakly seismic regions, contrasting indicators are not observed. Reduced stability and increased susceptibility of the geological environment to heterogeneous factors, especially in the case of their interference, can cause accidents at nuclear power plants and oil and gas pipelines, as well as railway tracks.
