摘要

Ideological and Political Education (IPE) has become a key instrument of governance in contemporary China, supporting efforts to promote civic loyalty, moral conduct and national identity. While IPE research has grown rapidly, systematic analysis remains scarce. This article uses bibliometric methods to examine 3,585 Chinese-language publications (2000–October 2024) from CNKI, identifying major trends, key contributors, and shifting research priorities. Findings reveal three dominant themes: integration of moral content across disciplines, innovation in delivery methods, and enhanced institutional coordination aligned with national priorities. These trends reflect that China uses education as both a pedagogical and political tool for ideological governance. Beyond the China case, the findings contribute to broader debates on the role of education in state-building, socialization, and the negotiation of political values in contemporary societies.
