A phenomenological study of multidimensional approaches to resolving horizontal conflicts in Nusa Tenggara Barat, Indonesia
摘要
The study analyses the characteristics of horizontal conflicts in Indonesia and evaluates the significance of integrating cultural, economic and legal approaches as a comprehensive strategy for conflict resolution. Additionally, the study examines the extent to which this integration aligns with existing conflict resolution concepts and practices in Indonesia. This study adopted the interpretivism-phenomenology philosophy, empirical-inductive approach and archival research strategy to identify and analyse various integration phenomena of economic, cultural and legal approaches in conflict resolution across different regions of Indonesia. This study found that horizontal conflict resolutions in Indonesia remained suboptimal as the integration of cultural, economic and legal approaches had not been fully reviewed or applied, highlighting the limitations of each approach and the multidimensional nature of horizontal conflicts in Indonesia. Collaboration between the government, communities and legal institutions is a strategic step towards sustainable peace, while this study provides theoretical contributions and offers practical concepts for local governments regarding effective conflict management strategies and highlights the literature gap regarding the importance of a multidimensional approach in resolving horizontal conflicts in various communities.
