摘要

The digital economy era presents many opportunities and challenges. Entrepreneurship spirit represents the potential values and strategic orientation of enterprises and has become an important leading force for enterprises to ‘promote new quality productive forces with innovation’, by allocating internal resources and building strategic alliances. Based on data of A-share listed companies from 2011 to 2022, this study examines the impact of digitally-oriented entrepreneurship spirit (DES) on new quality productive forces using resource allocation theory. Results reveal that (1) DES significantly promotes the formation of new quality productive forces. This conclusion holds after a series of robustness tests. (2) Mechanism analysis shows that DES promote new quality productive forces by optimising internal resource allocation and building strategic alliances to obtain external resources. (3) Heterogeneity analysis shows that DES significantly promotes new productive forces in enterprises with less media attention, with stronger intellectual property protection, and in non-strategic emerging industries. This study extends research on the economic consequences of Entrepreneurship spirit and the factors influencing new quality productive forces, providing empirical evidence for fostering Entrepreneurship spirit and promoting new quality productive forces.
