<p>Synthetic transformation has become a disruptive force in the field of art, with profound impacts on the processes of both the generation of relevant information and applicable knowledge and the production, distribution and consumption of cultural goods and services. AI, one of its main pillars, is increasingly being used by artists and writers to complement, develop or even finish their work. But AI is also being developed to be applied and used autonomously in the production of artistic works and scientific and informational texts, i.e., without expert oversight. Using a critical hermeneutic methodology typical of the humanities and social sciences, this study aims to critically reflect on the algorithmic colonisation of the art world and its current and potential impacts.</p>
