Studying the impact of retirement age on life expectancy is of great significance for addressing the aging trend and the insufficiency of social security funds. This article uses data from the OECD and World Bank databases, including pensions, health and economy, to analyze 48 countries. This paper adopts a bidirectional fixed-effect model to study the impact of retirement age on life expectancy. The research results show that the retirement age has a certain positive impact on life expectancy, especially in developing countries and those where the retirement ages for men and women are different. The basic conclusion of this article is that the retirement age has a positive impact on life expectancy, while delaying retirement has no obvious negative impact on life expectancy. This provides a basis for a healthy perspective on implementing the policy of delaying retirement.
