The relationship between vocational core competencies and learning engagement of higher vocational students in Beijing: the mediating effect of professional commitment and moderating effect of gender
摘要
This study delves into the relationship between vocational core competencies and learning competencies among 1002 higher vocational students, and the mediating role of professional commitment. The study revealed that (1) higher vocational students score moderately high on the test of vocational core competencies, especially those who served as student cadres. (2) Vocational core competencies of higher vocational students positively predicted their learning engagement, in which professional commitment has a partial mediating effect. (3) Gender plays a moderating role in the prediction of vocational core competencies and professional commitment to learning engagement; the impact of vocational core competencies and professional commitment to learning engagement is greater for male students than female students.
