<p>China’s ability to secure strategic dominance in the rare earth export trade hinges critically on its responsiveness to the evolving dynamics of international market influence. The article adopts the SMR (Song-Marchant-Reed) expansion model and the modified Lerner index measurement system to deeply analyze the international market power (MP) of Chinese rare earth products (REP), explore the multi-dimensional impacts of the linkage effects of related REP, the resource tax adjustment, the new crown epidemic, and other factors on the market influence of China’s rare earth exports, and combine with the Back Propagation neural network to assess China’s REPs’ strategic standing in heterogeneous global markets. It is found that: (1) China’s global supply position and MP of rare earths are characterized by the phenomenon of “quantitative mismatch”; (2) the international MP of China’s REP follows the asymmetric evolution path of “bilateral constraints-multilateral expansion”; (3) there is the coexistence of price discretization and dynamic convergence of market gaps. Drawing on the aforementioned analytical results, this paper formulates targeted policy proposals aimed at enhancing the strategic positioning of China’s rare earth export sector.</p>
