RETRACTED ARTICLE: A decade of love: mapping the landscape of romantic love research through bibliometric analysis

摘要

Given the limited availability of bibliometric and visual analysis onthe topic of romantic love, the primary objective of the current study is to fillthis gap by conducting a comprehensive visual analysis of relevant literature.Through this analysis, the current study aimed to uncover current research trendsand identify potential future directions in the field of romantic love. The currentstudy’s search criteria were met by an impressive 6858 publications found inthe Web of Science database for the period between 2013 and 2022. A thoroughanalysis was conducted on the bibliographic visualization of the authors,organizations, countries, references, and keywords. Over time, there has been aremarkable surge in the number of significant publications. Among the authors in thefield of romantic love, Emily A. Impett has emerged as the most prolific. The Journal of Social and Personal Relationships isindeed one of the top journals that has published a significant number of articleson the topic of romantic love. During the preceding decade, the University ofCalifornia System emerged as a prominent producer of publications centered aroundromantic love, solidifying the United States’ position as a dominant playerin this field. In recent times, there has been a significant surge in the popularityof keywords such as “same-sex,” “conflictresolution,” and “social relationships” within academicliterature. These topics have experienced a burst of attention, as evidenced by asubstantial increase in references and citations. Through the use of visualizationmaps and analysis of key publications, the current study offers a comprehensiveoverview of the key concepts and potential avenues for future research in the fieldof romantic love. Gaining a deep understanding of the complex dynamics and societalimplications of romantic love has been instrumental in formulating policies thatembody increased compassion and support. As a result, these policies have played apivotal role in fostering resilient familial ties and contributing to the enduringstability and prosperity of our social fabric.
