<p>This book can be read from different academic perspectives: critical thinking, sociological capitalism, and South-South relations. It offers a microstudy of Latin American businessmen of Arab origin (most of them) in dialogue with the general evolution of capitalism and demonstrate the extent to which South-South relations are linked to neoliberal capitalism. In addition, the author looks at the contradictory trends inherent in globalization to highlight the diversity of business elites’ profiles and the persistence of their national identification in many cases. This commentary concludes with a few critical reactions to the book, for instance on the possibility to further dialogue with research conducted in Latin America, and with avenues for future research.</p>
