<p>In a context deeply wounded by human and environmental exploitation, organized state violence and discrimination, especially in the slams and peripheries of Latin America, the Economy of Francisco Y Clara in Brazil aims to sketch the possibility for a future of dignity and solidarity targeting young generations. The ambitious plan tries to rethink the economy starting from the needs, knowledge, and perspectives of communities. In sharp tension with the individualistic extractive model of neoliberal principles, the Economy of Francisco y Clara believes it is possible generating collective socio-economic innovation to overcome the multiple crises affecting Latin America, towards building a new economy of care. Inspired by encyclical <i>Laudato Si</i> (2015) and Pope Francis’s pontifical drive to engage youth into shaping a different future for the planet, the Economy of Francisco Y Clara, while moving its preliminary steps, projects itself as a social and political movement whose ultimate goal is to coalesce with already existing forces in the society - across the spectrum of beliefs and religions – to contribute to the common good of the country having the poor as the main benchmark for action and operational research.</p>
