摘要
This article examines the significance of the principles and values of the Eightfold Path in Theravada Buddhism for altering a secular lifestyle in Thai society before and after the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis to the present. It utilizes a constructivist methodology based on path-dependence analysis, alongside Post Development (PD) Theory and relevant case studies. Furthermore, it presents the concept of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) as a crucial safeguard for quality living within the framework of modern economic globalization, offering a legitimate criterion for evaluating rationality in everyday conduct, fostering the achievement of authentic happiness.
