The role of individual and situational factors on repeat victimization of online fraud in China
摘要
Repeat victimization of online fraud has profound impacts, yet few studies have examined its prevalence and contributing factors, particularly in China. This study addresses this gap by examining the individual characteristics and situational factors associated with repeat victimization. Through self-report questionnaires from 623 victims (including 86 repeat victims), we identified that males and individuals with lower educational levels tended to be more likely to experience Repeat Victimization. Logistics analysis revealed that low social support and high negative impact from life events emerged as robust predictors. These findings enable early identification of potential repeat victims and provide empirical support for the development of targeted prevention strategies for this vulnerable population.
