<p>The sense of security and fear in parks during nighttime is a concerning issue for women when spending leisure time. Therefore, improving the quality of urban parks at night is important. In this study, we identify and evaluate the effective criteria for designing urban parks based on Iranian women’s sense of security when they are alone in a park at night. The research method was based on a survey and attitude measurements of female users in Saei Park, which were conducted using a questionnaire. The results show eight main components from the perspective of women, including spatial openness, lighting, way out and street accessibility, round-the-clock activities, navigation, order and space cleanliness, presence of people, and surveillance, to enhance the nightlife of urban parks. The obtained results offer appropriate models for designers, architects, and city managers to efficiently design urban parks for nightlife.</p>
