Ethnopsychoanalysis after the long summer of migration: (Re)connecting a method of strong reflexivity
摘要
This paper (re)connects ethnopsychoanalysis to current methodological debates on strong reflexivity and refines it as a framework for relational analysis. Incorporating Winnicott’s concept of transitional space, ethnopsychoanalysis is developed through object relations theory. It is further extended to include the contribution of situated knowledge, and group analytic supervision is described as an application of this strong reflexive approach. The empirical example of research relationships with Syrian refugees after the long summer of migration in Germany is used to illustrate the concrete workings of the methodological argument developed.
