<p>Taking into consideration contemporary french society, this article analyzes from a theoretical point of view the existing links between pornography and psychoanalysis in the way both that address the treatment of the ‘sexual’. It argues that the medical field has had a strong influence on the psychoanalytic approach to sexuality. After a brief analysis of the perception of pornography through the connections between the ‘porn thing’ and porn studies, it underlines the links that can be drawn between pornography and psychoanalysis, demonstrating complementary perspectives with their less normative approach to sexuality and how these can be perceived in our contemporary society.</p>
