<p>This article examines the dynamics of private security in the context of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It highlights the security challenges for this large-scale event, particularly the shortage of private security guards. Faced with the heightened terrorist threat and the massive influx of visitors, France had to mobilize not only public forces, but also step up the use of private security. The article analyses how collaboration between public and private players intensified, with a revision of regulatory frameworks to accelerate the training of security guards. It shows how this event fostered the emergence of new players such as OPSE (Organization of Event Security Professionals) and led to a reconfiguration of private security governance, creating tensions between professionalization and the urgency of recruitment. Ultimately, the study shows that the Paris 2024 Games were a catalyst for change in the regulation of private security in France.</p>
