Drug-induced inflammatory colitis: a review of novel agents
摘要
There is growing recognition of drug-induced inflammatory colitis due to increasing availability of novel therapies. This review provides an overview of contemporary drug classes causing inflammatory colitis, excluding immune checkpoint inhibitor-induced colitis which has previously been well characterised. We report on the mechanism, frequency, clinical presentation, endoscopic appearance and histopathological findings of inflammatory colitis secondary to tyrosine kinase inhibitors, phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase inhibitors, anti-IL-6 agents, IL-17 inhibitors and anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies.
