摘要

Understanding the ways that mechanical stimuli influence tumour progression is vital for discovering treatments to overcome the limitations of current options. In this paper, the mathematical models used to quantify and explore the mechanical forces applied to cells and tissues are reviewed. Experiments that attempt to quantify the effects of mechanical stress on different stages of cancer are explored. Lastly, the biological effect of compression on cancer is discussed.
