Advanced electronic noses for future robotic olfaction
摘要
Equipping robots with sensory capabilities enables them to perceive and interact with their environment. Robotic olfaction, inspired by biology, uses electronic noses to sample and process odors. This review surveys recent e-nose advances, compares sensor types and robotic suitability, and outlines gas source localization algorithms. It highlights applications in search and rescue, environmental monitoring, healthcare, etc. Finally, it assesses opportunities and challenges, offering insights and directions for advancing robotic olfaction.
