The potential usefulness of health asset valuation to promote health among Korean employees
摘要
We aim to investigate perceptions of health asset value (HAV) among South Korean employees. We conducted an interviewer-administered nationwide survey to investigate perceptions of health asset valuations for the 1,000 Korean employees. Most respondents (63.4%-80.4%) agree on estimating the economic value of health assets and their implications. Higher education participants have more positive attitudes toward participating in personalized health improvement activities that increase the value of health assets (adjusted OR [aOR] 2.21, 95% CI 1.35–3.61). Participants with higher income tend to have more positive attitudes toward health assets, believing that they have economic value (aOR 1.36, 95% CI 1.01–1.82), considering systematic evaluation of health assets to be helpful for health management (aOR 1.53, 95% CI 1.11–2.09), and showing a willingness to continuously use programs that assess the value of health assets (aOR 1.98, 95% CI 1.37–2.85). Among the health status factors, good mental health is positively associated with a willingness to pay for health improvement programs (aOR 1.42, 95% CI 1.07–1.89). Finally, good spiritual health increases the likelihood of viewing health assets as having economic value (aOR 1.45, 95% CI 1.05–2), considering the systematic evaluation of health assets as helpful for health management (aOR 1.42, 95% CI 1.01–2.01), and being willing to pay for health improvement programs based on the value of health assets (aOR 1.51, 95% CI 1.11–2.06). This study suggests the potential usefulness of HAV to promote health.
