A dataset of paired auscultatory and oscillometric blood pressure measurements from routine clinical practice

Non-invasive blood pressure (BP) assessment underpins hypertension screening and clinical decision-making, yet agreement between clinician auscultation and automated oscillometry remains imperfect, particularly in routine outpatient care. We introduce OSC-AUS-BPM, a real-world dataset of paired BP measurements collected during standard cardiology outpatient visits using a hybrid workflow that yields methodologically independent readings within the same cuff inflation-deflation cycle. Specifically, an experienced cardiologist recorded auscultatory systolic and diastolic BP (AUS) during device-controlled deflation before oscillometric results were displayed, while the device simultaneously produced oscillometric systolic, diastolic and mean BP (OSC) and heart rate, and stored the cuff-pressure trace from the measurement cycle. Each record is accompanied by contextual metadata to support stratified analyses, including age, sex, height, weight, BMI, arm circumference, cuff type, rhythm classification and physician-reported hypertension class. A semi-automated processing pipeline removed test-phase entries, screened implausible or logically inconsistent values, corrected only unambiguous typographical errors and flagged incomplete records. OSC-AUS-BPM enables benchmarking of non-invasive BP methods, quantification of OSC-AUS disagreement across clinically relevant subgroups, and signal-processing research leveraging the recorded pressure trace.
