<p>Space travel could be accelerating ageing. This could be because life is being exposed to conditions too far outside its evolved Goldilocks zone. For optimal health, this suggests that humans may need to develop spacecraft that mimic Earth’s conditions exactly. In this perspective we suggest that origins of life theories, quantum biology and thermodynamics may provide insight into whether humans, and their companion organisms, are “trapped on Earth”.</p>
