<p>Oocyte aging is a major cause of age-related fertility decline. This Review summarizes how DNA methylation disruption, aberrant histone modifications, RNA modifications and non-coding RNA dysregulation impair chromatin integrity, meiosis, mitochondrial function and developmental competence. We further discuss epigenetic and metabolism-oriented interventions, including NAD<sup>+</sup> precursors, sirtuin activation and antioxidants, highlighting mechanistic opportunities and translational limitations for improving aged oocyte quality.</p>
