<p>Linfuranone F (<b>1</b>), a new furanone-containing polyketide, was isolated from the culture extract of an actinomycete of the genus <i>Sphaerimonospora</i> along with three known linfuranones B (<b>2</b>), C (<b>3</b>), and D (<b>4</b>). Compound <b>1</b> was established as a 6,7-dehydrated congener of <b>3</b> by comparing their spectroscopic data and considering their biosynthetic relatedness. All compounds displayed agonistic activity against PPARγ in a reporter gene assay and <b>1</b> showed the highest activity.</p>

Linfuranone F (1), a new furanone-containing polyketide, was isolated from the culture extract of an actinomycete of the genus Sphaerimonospora along with three known linfuranones B (2), C (3), and D (4).
