Management of peri-implantitis
摘要
Peri-implantitis is a common complication of dental implants, characterised by inflammation and bone loss around the implant. This article discusses the management of peri-implantitis, including established techniques such as implantoplasty and chemical agents like chlorhexidine, as well as novel approaches like photo-biomodulation and desiccation shock debridement. These new techniques show promising results in promoting tissue healing and reducing bacteria on implant surfaces. Patient education and regular hygiene appointments are crucial in preventing and managing peri-implant diseases.
