Sustainable protection measurement of the historical Guangning Bridge in Shaoxing City
摘要
Shaoxing is a historic water city renowned for its historical bridge settlements, which hold significant architectural and cultural value. This study focuses on the sustainable protection of the Guangning Bridge, a representative heritage structure. Using building information modeling, the structural behavior of the arch ring was analyzed, confirming compliance with design codes. Based on field investigations, appropriate repair and reinforcement measures were implemented. One year of monitoring revealed that displacements, deformations, and cracks remained within allowable limits, ensuring structural safety. The proposed approach preserves historical integrity while enhancing durability, providing a practical model for conserving historical stone bridges and cultural heritage worldwide.
