Behandlungssequenz und Entscheidungskriterien bei Parodontitis Stadium III und IV
摘要
The coordination of periodontal and prosthetic measures is particularly important in advanced forms of periodontitis. The question of the preservability of strategically important teeth plays a crucial role in overall treatment planning. The S3 guidelines of the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) for the treatment of periodontitis stages I–III and stage IV provide an essential framework and offer recommendations for the treatment of periodontitis as well as accompanying orthodontic, functional, and (implant-supported) prosthetic measures. The present article focuses on the treatment sequence for patients with periodontitis stage III or IV who require prosthetic treatment. When do we decide which teeth to extract and which to retain? What considerations need to be made from a prosthetic perspective, and how do these decisions integrate into the periodontal treatment plan? These and other questions are addressed with reference to the aforementioned guidelines.
