Pant Forage Maize Hybrid-1 (DFH-2)
摘要
Pant Forage Maize Hybrid-1 (DFH‑2) is the world’s first single-cross inter-subspecies hybrid between maize (Zea mays L.) and its wild ancestor teosinte (Z. mays subsp. parviglumis), developed at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. It was released and notified by Central Sub-Committee on Crop Standards, Notification and Release of Varieties of Agricultural Crops, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi, vide notification number S.O. 4388(E) dated 08/10/2024 for cultivation in Northern Western Zone (Uttarakhand-plain, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan) and Central Zone (Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh). DFH-2 is having high green forage yield and dry matter yield along with other advantages over the national checks COHM-8, J-1006 and African Tall. Unique of features of DFH-2 viz. multiple basal/lateral tillers and regrowth potential in combination with higher forage yield may prove to be useful for dairy farmers.
