<p>Following the academization of the midwifery profession in Germany, there is growing need for a strategic orientation of midwifery research. Thus, the aim of this project is to develop the German Midwifery Research Agenda 2026–2036. The agenda is based on a scoping review and a scoping workshop with 29&#xa0;experts from midwifery science and related disciplines, combining design thinking elements with structured facilitation methods. The scoping review identified 217 relevant publications and revealed a thematically broad but fragmented research landscape. Through the findings, seven key positions were developed addressing the scientific positioning of midwifery science, the development of an independent theoretical and methodological framework, transdisciplinary research, the advancement of maternity care, societal and global challenges, international collaboration, and sustainable research and funding structures. The HebFoA 2026–2036 is intended to serve as a strategic framework for research and structural development, thereby supporting the evidence-based advancement of midwifery science and the care of women and families in Germany.</p>
