Surgical Correction of a Large Pulmonary Artery Aneurysm and Dysplastic Pulmonary Valve in a 6-Year-Old Patient: A Case Report and Literature Review
摘要
Pulmonary artery aneurysms (PAA) are rare vascular abnormalities, particularly in pediatric patients. The causes could be multifactorial, such as chest trauma, idiopathic, infection, or associated with congenital heart disease. Clinical presentation can vary from asymptomatic to catastrophic outcomes (sudden death). Early diagnosis and timely intervention are critical to prevent life-threatening complications such as pulmonary artery dissection or rupture. This case report presents the successful surgical repair of dysplastic pulmonary valve with a large main pulmonary artery aneurysm in a 6-year-old child, a rarity in clinical practice.
