Laparoscopic Resection of Retroperitoneal Low Grade Fibromyxoid Sarcoma With Literature Review
摘要
This report details a successful laparoscopic resection of a retroperitoneal low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma. A 57-year-old woman with a BMI of 44.2 presented with recurrent back pain. Imaging via computed tomography (CT) identified a solid tumor measuring 6.5 × 5.7 × 9.2 cm situated in the right retroperitoneum, located between the right kidney and iliac artery, and posterior to the inferior vena cava (IVC). The tumor was successfully removed laparoscopically. Pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis as a low-grade fibromyxoid sarcoma, commonly referred to as Evans tumor. The patient experienced an uneventful recovery and was discharged on the fourth postoperative day, asymptomatic. This case highlights the rarity of an Evans tumor within the retroperitoneal space. Follow-up PET-CT and MRI performed one year later returned negative results.
