<p>The significance of medicinal plants in meeting human resource needs has become increasingly evident. Concomitantly, the demand for such plants within various industries has been steadily rising. Among these underexplored species is <i>Salvadora oleoides</i>, recognized for its potential in producing bioactive compounds. This study presents an examination of various aspects associated with <i>Salvadora oleoides</i>, including its social relevance, vegetative characteristics, climatic preferences, and methods for preservation and propagation. Furthermore, the morphological traits, as well as physiochemical and biochemical properties of the plant, are analyzed in detail. To facilitate a clearer understanding and enable comparisons, the diverse bioactive metabolites and isolated compounds derived from the plant are systematically categorized. While it has been established that <i>Salvadora oleoides</i> possesses numerous pharmacognostic potentials, there remain considerable gaps in research across certain areas, particularly concerning its application in various cell lines. Given the imperative to investigate the plant's robust anti-cancer properties, it is essential to promote further research into its biological significance. This review paper employs the PRISM method to analyze and synthesize over 40&#xa0;years of research, focusing on the medicinal value of underexplored plant species and the range of pharmacological properties, which operate through distinct mechanisms. To our knowledge, this is the first systematic review that compiles and compares existing studies in this domain. By bridging gaps in the current literature, this paper provides a comprehensive, scientifically-backed dataset to support and guide future research. The consolidation of these findings not only highlights the medicinal potential of these plant species but also underscores the necessity for continued exploration in this field.</p>
