Curcuma zanthorrhiza Roxb. (Zingiberaceae): a new record for Eastern Ghats of India

While substantiating the identity, occurrence and conservation status of Zingiberaceae, Curcuma zanthorrhiza Roxb., closely similar to Curcuma zedoaria (Christ.) Rosc. and C. caesia Roxb. was collected from Nayagarh district of Odisha and reported here for the first time from the Eastern Ghats of India. Detailed description of the species with photographs are provided for easy identification and differentiation from its allied species.
