Physical, morphological, and optical properties of SnS micro- and chemical route synthesized nano-particles
摘要
Comparative study of tin sulphide (SnS) in micro- and nano-form is carried out in the present study. The market purchased SnS fine powder is considered as micro-particles. The SnS nano-particles are synthesized by chemical route. In the synthesis, stannous chloride and thioacetamide are used as the source of cations (Sn2+) and anions (S2−) respectively. The micro- and synthesized nanoparticles of SnS are comprehensively characterized for elemental compositions, phase, unit cell structure, surface morphology, crystallite size, and optical properties. The characterizations are carried out employing different analytical techniques. The determined properties are analyzed with comparison to each other.
