<p>In recent years, as climate change progresses, the frequency and scale of natural disasters, such as typhoons and storm surges, have increased. This has underscored the importance of disaster-prevention measures in port areas. This study discusses the significance of providing specific disaster scenarios anticipated under future climate conditions as time-series scenario-based risk communication. For this purpose, a workshop using the disaster simulation tool Video Ametore was conducted among stakeholders of Matsuyama Port in Japan. Participants discussed the impressions of the Video Ametore results, challenges and collaboration with surrounding parties. A questionnaire survey was conducted to evaluate the workshop concerning improved understanding of disaster response, awareness of collaboration among stakeholders, effectiveness, and changes in climate change awareness. The simulated experience with Video Ametore visually demonstrated, through the same scenario, differences in response actions across businesses over time. Hence, the workshop facilitated the sharing of differences in disaster response approaches and challenges among participants, reinforcing the importance of information sharing and collaboration. The survey results revealed that while several participants expressed a strong sense of crisis regarding natural disasters caused by climate change, challenges exist in inter-business collaboration. Regarding climate change, the workshop demonstrated the importance of creating forums to explicitly highlight differences among participants and discuss collective actions toward common goals.</p>
