Discussion on arsenic removal in arsenic-containing copper concentrate

The existence of arsenic in copper concentrate not only affects the quality of products, seriously affects the conductivity and ductility of copper products, but also the inorganic arsenate and arsenic-containing organic compounds produced by the oxidation of arsenic-containing copper minerals can enter people's lives through geological circulation and biological circulation, pollute the environment and affect human health. Through the in-depth study of arsenic removal in copper concentrate, the main arsenic-containing copper minerals were identified as arsenopyrite, enargite, and tennantite, and there are three main sources of arsenic in copper concentrate. The flotation agent of copper concentrate, flotation process and the separation of main arsenic containing copper minerals from chalcopyrite and chalcocite are discussed. It is pointed out that for the current problem of arsenic removal of arsenic-containing copper minerals, the traditional flotation process and flotation agents have been difficult to solve, we must pay attention to the study of selective collector and high efficiency inhibitor, and on the basis of high efficiency agent, combined with the regrinding of coarse concentrate, increasing the number of concentration, extending the stirring time, heating the pulp and controlling the redox potential of the pulp and other treatments, strengthen the separation effect of copper and arsenic. And the metallurgy and pyrometallurgy technology of treating copper and arsenic concentrate are also discussed.
