<p>Antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a silent pandemic, is globally threatening both developed and developing countries. Understanding the mechanisms by which AMR proliferates enables the selection of effective detection methods to minimize labor, time, and resource costs. Additionally, adopting the appropriate preventive measures, such as proper sanitation, efficient handling and disposal of medical wastes, and awareness of zoonosis, is also helpful in preventing the spread of infections between the environment, humans, and animals. Detection mechanisms such as proteomics-based, phenotypic, genotypic, and bioinformatics tools are reliable and efficient techniques for reducing and managing AMR. Furthermore, focusing on alternative approaches such as developing novel therapeutic agents, working on effective detection methods, the One Health approach, metagenomics, symbiotic association of probiotics, prebiotics, and postbiotics, and bacteriophage-based therapy developments are promising in combating AMR. Another mechanism to mitigate this silent pandemic is to focus on alternative approaches that reduce horizontal gene transfer, restore antimicrobial effectiveness, and mitigate climate change, among others.</p>

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a silent pandemic, is globally threatening both developed and developing countries.
