<p><i>Exophiala xenobiotica</i>, a fungus belonging to the genus Exophiala, is a relatively rare species that infects human skin and soft tissues. Pneumonia caused by <i>E. xenobiotica</i> is extremely rare. In this paper, we report a case of a 60-year-old man who presented with severe pneumonia caused by <i>E. xenobiotica</i>, which was rapidly diagnosed clinically with the assistance of mNGS and treated with systemic voriconazole and glucocorticoid with good results.</p>

摘要

Exophiala xenobiotica, a fungus belonging to the genus Exophiala, is a relatively rare species that infects human skin and soft tissues. Pneumonia caused by E. xenobiotica is extremely rare.
