摘要

Feeding jejunostomy is a worthy alternative for enteral nutrition support in patients who cannot feed orally. Despite its benefits, enteral tube feeding is not without complications. We present a case of distal migration of the broken feeding jejunostomy tube into the abdomen which was performed because of complete dysphagia following acid ingestion. This was managed by colonoscopic removal of the tube stuck at the ileocecal junction. This case emphasizes that the proper fixation and marking are essential to prevent distal migration of the feeding jejunostomy tube. Waitful watching may be done in asymptomatic cases for spontaneous expulsion of the tube. The terminal ileum is the common site for the tube to get stuck. In these patients, a trial of colonoscopic removal of the tube may be given before laparotomy.
