<p>Volunteer-created OpenStreetMap (OSM) provides current and open-access geographic information. In the context of the Neogeography paradigm, Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI), Crowdsourced Geographic Data (CSGD), and Crowdsourced Geographic Information (CGI), OpenStreetMap (OSM) is recognized as one of the technologies that is utilized the most frequently. OSM growth can benefit governments, especially in emerging economies like India, where financial assistance is sparse. The purpose of this study is to investigate the spatial structure, evolution, density, and diversity of OSM road networks in Srinagar City, India, over the years 2014 to 2022. The results show a significant expansion of the OSM road network in Srinagar city, increasing from 1154&#xa0;km in 2014 to 2259&#xa0;km in 2022. In addition, during the years 2020 and 2022, the road density increased while the road diversity and road evenness remained the same. These findings indicate a pressing requirement for a more all-encompassing strategy utilizing Volunteered Geographic Information to fill gaps in official data in low- and middle-income nations. These results also point to the importance of a more comprehensive strategy utilizing Volunteered Geographic Information to fill the voids in quality data that exist in developing nations.</p>
