<p>The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals were first introduced in 2015 and have been used globally to measure sustainability of economic growth and ecological well -being. Nevertheless, Ethiopian banks have faced problem of implementing these goals through people strategy. The effect of sustainable People strategy on Ethiopian banks performance is not well understood. Additionally, less is known about the mediating function of competitive strategy in this relationship. Thus, this research addresses the Influence of Sustainable people Strategy on the Performance of Ethiopian Banks with mediating role of Competitive Strategy. In this study, the researchers used primary data collection method to gather relevant data. Target population of current investigation comprised of 101,589 employees of six selected banks operating in Ethiopia. By using stratified sampling procedure with the support of Yamane 1967 formula, 383 participants were included in the investigation. The study employed structural equation modeling (SEM) alongside exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis (EFA and CFA) to analyze data. The findings of this study indicated that, sustainable People strategy has significant influence on sustainable Ethiopian banks performance. And Competitive Strategy has significant influence on sustainable performance of Ethiopian banks. In this investigation, competitive strategy was found to be partial mediator in the association. The researchers concluded that Ethiopian banks can enhance their innovative processes and effectively respond to people demand by fostering competitive strategy. This research contributes a deeper theoretical understanding of sustainable business practices and provides valuable practical insights for Ethiopian banks seeking to strengthen their sustainability initiatives to people administration.</p>
