Virale Hepatitis und HIV im Justizvollzug
摘要
Blood-borne viral infections are a particular challenge in the management of people in prison. This manuscript reviews current practices for the prevention, screening, and initial management of hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections in this context. Screening should be offered at least at first contact. Uncomplicated chronic hepatitis C can be managed with general medical care. In the presence of complicating factors or evidence of the other pathogens mentioned, treatment should be managed by a specialized center. Due to the accumulation of multiple risk factors and socioeconomic disadvantages in prisoners, there is not only a great need for treatment, but it is also essential to promptly treat this population in order to achieve the public health objectives declared by national governments and international organizations for the control of viral hepatitis and HIV.
