<p>The advent of GenAI magnifies the need for both applied wisdom through ethical behavior and durable skills that can evolve with technology. This article presents a new digital fluency approach that aims to counter socio-cultural limitations of GenAI, such as inequity and bias, while challenging overconfidence in technology as an inherently progressive resource. This approach to digital fluency centers on building AI mindsets of agency, wisdom, curiosity, and character to provide a potential conceptual foundation for narrowing a complex GenAI digital divide. Use-case recommendations and implications for educational praxis provide practical action steps for researchers and practitioners alike.</p>
